    Lakshmana and Anajaneya were sincere devotees of Lord Rama who had service as their only motive and goal. Both of them meet the first time.Both of them were courageous. Both of them were virtuous. Both of them had Rama as their only refuge.Both of them were humble. Both of them were knowledgeable.

        Rama appreciated all the qualities of Hanuman. He asked Lakshmana to reply to Hanumna.Lakshmana spoke to Hanuman “ Generally leaders are leaders of only a particular nation, not for others. They might be leaders for a particular time, and not for the rest of the period. They might be leaders of a clan, not for others. But Sri Rama is the the leader of all nations, at all times, for all people, and for all communities. That Rama who is the leader of all nations wishes to make Sugreeva, the head.” Lakshmana then introduced himself. “  Iam Lakshmana Iam the brother of the all knowing Rama. Seeing the infinite virtues of Rama I wishes to serve him all my life and thus became his dasa. He thinks me as his brother, but I wish to be his servant. Hanuman, happily ascended Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulders and took them to Sugreeva. Sugreeva and Rama became friends.

“ Nanrugvedavineethasya naayajurvedadharinaha

Naasamavedavidushaha shakya Evam prabhaashithum

Nunam Vyakaranam Kruthsnam Anena bahudha srutham

Bahuvyaaharathaanena na Kinchidapashabditham”

  We need brain and brawn to succeed in any endeavour. If one is brilliant yet is of weak stature he needs to depend on a healthy person to fulfil any of his tasks. Similarly a man of muscular strength needs to depend on an intelligent person for his suggestions. On the contrary if a person is both wise and strong yet is involved in prohibitive activities he is of no use to the society. The greatness of hanuman is that he is wise, strong and noble. He served Rama as a virtuous attendar. He was unmarried till the end and knew all the sastras. He was humble, loving and selfless. He was a gnani inall. “ Gnani cha Bharatharshabha”—When Madhusudhana Saraswathi wrote a commentary for Gita, for this phrase he picks up Aanjaneya swamy as an example.

                               Vali and Sugreeva were the sons of the vanara king Ruksharajas. They were united at the beginning. But due to the battle of Mayavi unforeseen circumstances split the brothers. Sugreeva surrendered to Vali. Still Vali did not forgive his blunder. He usurped his wealth and wife as well. He chased him away from the kingdom. As righteousness was on the side of Sugreeva Hanuman supported the latter and stayed with him, consoling him all the while.

               Rama heard from kabanda about Sugreeva and came in search of him to the banks of the lake Pampa. At first Sugreeva suspected that it could be the spies sent by Vali to attack him. Hanuman met Rama, introduced himself and enquired about Rama. Rama was overwhelmed by Hanuman’s speech.. he praised Hanuman’s wisdom to lakshmana. “ See Lakshmana ,from Hanuman’s speech it is obvious that he is well versed in all the four Vedas and the 9 Vyakaranas. His speech is neither too fast nor too slow. His voice is neither too loud nor too soft. His sweet voice  captivates the heart of one and all. It is pregnant with the authority of the sastras and acceptable to one and all. It is devoid of a single absurd word. If even an enemy hears him he would surrender his heart to hanuman. He is fortunate who will have Hanuman as his messenger.”

    The way Rama extols Hanuman proves how much rama would have admired Hanuman.
