The citizens of Ayodhya were greatly affectionate towards Rama. They were all excited when Dasaratha announced the impending Pattabhisheka of Lord Rama. They expressed their unanimous acceptance. They also stated His qualities:
Priyaan aanandanan_ If a person is praised admist a gathering it will not be acceptable to one and all. But the praise of Rama’s virtues gives happiness to one and all.
Divayaihi Gunaihi : Sri Rama has attributes beyond one’s imagination. His qualities are divine. He had qualities which previously the kings of Ikshvaku rulers did not have. For example even if one repeated the same mistake for a 100 times he was willing to forgive him.
Prajaasukhathve chandrasya: Sri Rama gave happiness to all those suffering just as a moon by its cool rays gave happiness to those suffering in scorching heat. He is as patient as the earth and as intelligent as Bruhaspathi. He was also as valorous as Indra.
