1) The Dwarakavasis welcomed Lord Krishna with upaharas. It seemed as if they showed Deeparadhana to SuryaBhagavan- 11^th Adyaya, 4^th sloka

2) Krishna blessed the Dwarakavasis by His very kataksha- 11^th adyaya 10^th sloka

3) Krishna nodded His head at some Dwarakavasis,He hugged some,He shook hands with some, He smiled at some,he glanced at some. Thus He satiated everyone according to their own desires.- 11^th adyaya 22^nd sloka

5) “Madanopi”- 1^st meaning: manmatha unable to create lust in the Lord was defeated and hence broke his sugarcane bow and surrendered to the Lord.

2^nd meaning- Amadanopi- Lord Shiva looked at Krishna who conquered manmatha and shone as Manmathamanmatha. Immediately he thought “ I conquered manmatha but fell a prey to anger”. Hence he broke his bow called Pinakam.—Meaning as per Sridhariyam

Vibheeshana looks at Dharmavarma and consoled him. “Oh King, I appreciate your devotion but please give me way to carry my Lord. He is My lord because Sri Rama has himself given him to me. Iam on my way to Lanka.. Give me way please.” DharmaVarma says “ May be it is true that Rama gave Him to you, but I had been to Ayodhya quite before you. I had prayed to the Lord Himself that He may come over to SriRangam and stay with me forever. The Lord in His archaavathara has used you as his vaahana. It is He who has infact made Rama give him to you so that you may bring him over to this place. Once the procession is over the vaahana(carrier) goes to its mandapa, likewise you may retire to your abode.” Vibheeshana is taken aback. It is impossible for me to go back to Lanka without the lord. Let us not quarrel between us. Let us ask the Lord Himself. We shall wait for His answer. They pray to the Lord. “ Oh Lord of Lords, please give us an answer. To whom do you belong”. The Lord replies “ I belong to all. .Iam under the control of my devotees. Both you and Dharmavarma are my true devotees. Both of you are two eyes for me. But the fact is that Dharamavarma cannot come to Lanka to have my darshan as he is an ordinary human being. He cannot cross the sea. But Vibheshana being a rakshasa can come to see me through the akhasamarga.( through the skies). Hence I shall stay here. Vibheeshana can worship me in the nights and Dharmavarma during the daytime. Thus he consoles both of them. Vibheeshana too circumbulates the Lord and leaves for Lanka. The Lord stays at Srirangam facing Lanka expecting Vibheeshana every night.

Yada Yada hi Kousalya Daasivachcha Sakhiva cha

Baaryavath Baginivathcha Mathruvachchopathishtathi

Devotion is Premasawroopa. The world is controlled by a single force called Love. So does the Lord get captured by the net of love. This love is of 5 types. The affection expressed by the mother towards the child, the love that a friend shows towards another, the service that a servant does towards his employer, the love of a wife to her husband and finally the love of the gnanis towards the bruhamam. The first type is called vathsalya, the next one sakhya followed by dasya, madhurya and shantha.In Srimad Ramayana Kousalya shows Vatsalya, Sugriva shows sakhya, Anjaneya for dasya, Sita for madhurya and the rishis for shantha. Out of all these 5 Madhurya is the best. This is because in madhurya there is vatsalya, in madhurya there is sakhya and all other bhavas. A wife can be a mother at times, a friend at times, a maid servant at times. She can be everything.

Kousalya served Dasaratha in all ways. When she served him food she was like a mother. When he was a little worried about certain matters she would advise him like a sister. When she ridiculed him and played with him jokilng she was like a friend. When she wiped the dust off his paaduka and served his feet she was like a servant. Thus Dasaratha considered her as a wife, a sister, a mother, a friend and all.

DELHI SAPTHAHAM

Sri Venkatraman and his wife are ardent devotees of Sri Anna. They foster great affection towards HariAnna. They were very interested in conducting a sapthaham. Sri Hari Anna had come to Brundavanam for conducting Radha Klayana uthsavam. The couple expressed their desire to conduct the sapthaham. Sri Hari Anna had suggested that the sapthaham could be combined along with Brundavana Radhaashtami uthsavam.

The Pravachanam was to be conducted at Kamakshi mandir which lies in the heart of Delhi city. Pollachi Ganesan, the secretary of Kamakshi Mandir made all the arrangements enthusiastically. He always used to chant the name of Goddess Kamakshi. He was a great devotee of the paramachaaryal. Sri Harianna was impressed by his Gurubhakthi and Kamakshi namasankeerthanam.

The sapthaham was conducted from Sep 2^nd to 9^th. Hari anna began the upanyasam with the greatness of Vedas. If we talk of a certain matter from various shastras we need to give an authenticity to it from the Vedas. But for the Vedas the Vedas are by themselves authority. He emphasized Pruthu charitram in this sapthaham. The juncture where the Lord gives darshan to Pruthu was very emotive. When he delivered the pravachanam on Ajamilan he referred to Sri Bodhendral sanctifying an unchaste woman in Puri Jagannatham. Krishnaleelas were very interesting as usual.

On Sep 6^th at Gudgaon Unchavruthi, Divyanamam, Radhakalyanam were all held at the park of Sri Venkatraman’s residence. At the beginning the Bhagavathas asked Sri Hariji if it was to be as per Premika Sampradayam or sampradaya Bhajan? Both he answered. Divyanamam was interspersed with Premika keerthanas and Sampradaya keerthanas alternatively. It was milk and honey combined for the rasikas. Radhakayanam went on very well. Parayanam, Pravachanam, Sankeerthanam, Bhagavathaseva were all sincerely and lovingly arranged by Sri Venkatraman and his wife. Their children also showed immense affection to Shri Harianna.

ANSWERS FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2009

1) The Lord saved Utharakumari and her child from the brahmasthra of Ashwathathama. Sage Vyasa contemplated on this act and could not come out of it. Hence he mentions her name twice.

2) There is a nyaya by name “ Dehali”. Accordingly a lamp lit in the passage gives light to both sides of the passage. So does the term” Ajithasrayaha “ go along with both the words Indra and Anujanuvarthithaha. As did Indra attain prosperity by seeking refuge under the Lord so did Yudhishta too attain prosperity.

3) Udhava and Satyaki did the chamara upachara.

4) “ May you be happy and prosperous” . Such a blessing does not make sense to the Lord who is Ananadswaroopi himself. But in an avathar this makes sense.
