SLOKA FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH 2015

“ Thvam Aprameyascha Durasadascha jithendriyascha Uthathamadharmikascha
Akshayyakeerthischa Vichakshanascha  Kshithikshamaavan  kshathajopamaaksha”

Sri Rama killed Vaali. Vali’s wife, Tara was a chaste lady. She came running, hid her face in his bosom and cried aloud. With tears in her eyes she lifted her face to see Rama. With the Kodanda in his arms Sri Rama was standing there in his full majesty. She understood atonce that He was none but the Supreme Almighty. She then cried to him
“ The Supreme Lord cannot be understood by any of the senses. He cannot be understood even by assumption. He can be understood only by the sastras. You who can be understood only by the sastras have taken this incarnation and you stand before me as a human. You have controlled your senses. You are Dharma personified. Everyone has to learn the dharmic virtues from you. You are of blemishless fame.. If one wishes for fame, he would beget it by reciting the Ramayana. You are as forbearing as the earth. He was patient even when Vali was chastising him.

When Tara thus spoke Rama’s eyes became red with tears as he thought within himself “” I have made a chaste lady ( Tara) cry, though for the sake of another chaste lady ( seethe).. Tara saw his eyes and called him “ Oh Lotus eyed One! Please send me to the same loka as that of Vali.” Rama consoled him through Hanuman.
